Do you smooth out some cracks and stuff that form on the clay or do you go out of your way to smooth them out manually each time? It was the most nightmarish part of the process for me when I tried claymation for the first time
I smooth stuff out manually for the most part! If I notice big cracks and stuff when it's too late I use the clonestamp in Photoshop. It doesn't look as good though :(
Making animations is difficult, because if you want to make such an accurate animation, you have to make such an animation for a long time.

I remember thinking this looked like a piece of cake when I was younger. But now I have nothing but respect for those who do this for a living.
Remember kids: before digital stop motion was done on film, so you'd have to wait at least a day to see the photos you took.
Still the case when you don't have budget and shoot on a old SD card camera ;)
And I thought scrolling through pics on my camera display was tough 😢
@@Guldies depends on how the camera commands are, if they're hard, 90% chance to move the camera to check the pics is a hard price to pay indeed :(
